Social Worker in Harmful Use and Dependency

The area of adult services and disabilities is one of six areas within the social services department in the Northern Inner City district administration.

The area consists of 52 employees and is divided into four units: the adult unit, the social psychiatric unit, and two units for disabilities. We strive to have high accessibility and good service towards our clients, partners, and each other. We encourage development work and would like all employees to contribute to improving our operations.

We are now looking for a temporary social worker in the adult unit focusing on harmful use and dependency as we need reinforcement in the unit with a focus on transitioning to the future social services.

We are located in modern offices in an open landscape in Garnisonen, close to Karlaplan and the recreational area Djurgården. It is a competent workgroup where everyone helps each other. The daily work is led by a team leader and a present unit manager.

Your role

As a social worker in the harmful use and dependency group, you will be one of seven social workers who investigate, assess, and make decisions according to SoL and LVM. The cases that come to the adult unit include both applications and reports of concern. You will work with motivational work and collaborate with others both internally and externally, such as the region, dependency care, and correctional services.

Your skills and experience

We are looking for you who have:

• A degree in social work or another higher education that the employer assesses as equivalent
• Experience in authority exercise
• Good ability to express yourself in speech and writing

It is meritorious if you have:

• Experience in authority exercise in dependency
• Training in ASI
• Experience with the city’s umbrella system
• Training in motivational interviewing (MI)

We prefer that you are professional and structured in your work approach. It is important that you are stable and have good collaboration skills. The work involves meetings with people who are often in crisis situations, where you need to be calm and controlled in pressured situations. The work involves collaboration with other professionals as well as relatives, which means you need to have an open, accommodating, and problem-solving attitude.
